In recent years, while many luxury leather bags and jackets are produced, split leather has often been discarded. TAIZAN redefines this unused material as "WabiSabi Leather," blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with innovative leather molding technology.
Under the name TAIZAN KAKKI (literally "Great Mountain Leatherware"), we express a new culture of vessels.

Just as the characters for "leather" and "wrap" combine to form "bag" (鞄),
TAIZAN proposes a new character "革器 (KAKKI)" which combines "leather" and "vessel."

This ultimate sustainable leatherware is born from respecting the material itself and fully utilizing the life of cowhide.

Furthermore, one of the appeals of leatherware is its characteristic of being "overwhelmingly less prone to breakage" compared to ceramics. However, even if cracks or breaks do occur, by incorporating the philosophy of "kintsugi" (repairing with gold) and "yobitsugi" (repairing with other ceramic pieces), traditional Japanese repair techniques, it is possible to beautifully revive the piece.

Even scratches and cracks are accepted as beauty.

◆How to wash leatherware

・General dish soap can be used.

・Wash gently with a soft sponge and rinse thoroughly with running water.

・Do not use a dishwasher. Wipe off water with a cloth or towel and allow to air dry.

・Do not use abrasive detergents or bleach.
